PURPOSE

Taiwan Knitting Industry Association was established in 1949 by knitting industry manufacturers. Through regular meeting as well as mutual cooperation and coordination, this association served as a bridge to link up between the government policies and industry production and marketing.

The products produced by members of this association was to supply both the domestic and international markets, to prosper the society, to enlarge amount of foreign exchange, and to enhance the national economic strength. Currently, as Taiwan manufacturers are facing the radical and sudden changes of environment of management outward, the association need to assist its members in transforming their production structures, to meet the fashion trend, to keep competitive, to break the conservative tradition, to accept the new ideas, to obtain the newest information anytime, in order to cope with ever changing market fashion, and to achieve the objective of industry promotion and transformation.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

The association is founded under the approval of the Ministry of the Interior. The committees of members' Representative is the highest body of policy maker, it consists of a Board of Directors and a Board of supervisors. Being elected by whole directors, the chairman of association represented the whole industry and acted as the highest Executive officer of this association.

The Board of Directors are composed of Export research and promotion committee, Mainland China trade and investment committee, as well as knitting fabrics techniques research team. The Secretary General is in charge of administrative affairs under the authorization of the Chairman. There are three divisions in the administration affair handling namely General affair division, Business division and Administration affair division. They are executing various aspects of Association affairs.

The essence of Taiwan Knitting Industry Association is to serve our members.

a. Promoting our members' Production technology.

b. Assist our members to create more trade opportunities in the world markets.

c. On training the personnel of members' manufacturers.

d. Participate the international textile fairs and conventions.

e. Publish the newsletters of knitting industry.

PROSPECTS

The Knitting Industry is a labor intensive industry. Under the transformation period, the industry is facing many hardships. Only through promoting technology, improving quality, enhancing competitiveness, and changing the management ideas, can the industry be accomplished a successful transformation. This association will assist its member manufactures to cultivate and train their staffs, in order to promote the whole knitting industry develop what we expected and what it upgrades.
